I am actually one of the most stubborn individual that I know...shouldn't really be admitting t this, but it's the truth!!
I have this friend...well, bestfriend. We've been friends since Year 10 and I haven't spoken to her in about 3 weeks!!
This things do generally happen, but when you go from talking on the phone everyday almost every hour to no speaking at all then it becomes an issue.
Most people believe we should just patch things up, but in my defence I need a break!! There is this common believe that friendship is a relationship....just like every other type of relationship. Just because you don't make out and holds hands - we actually do hold hands...lol - doesn't make it any less of a relationship!!
Let's call my bf Jane...Jane and I have been friends for a long time. As expected, we have influenced each other in many ways. I want to believe that I have had a positive influence on Jane. The only problem is that I think this "lovely" relationship has been an 80-20 relationship, with me obviously putting in most of the effort! - You might think that I'm just ranting on and maybe I'm the one with the problem, but this is the truth - what's the point of lying on my blog???- It would be pointless!!
Jane has confessed to the fact that she finds it hard to be around my parents, but yet I can stay around her own parents without any problems. She can't even chill with my own brothers, whom other friends finds interesting and can have long conversations with. Fair point- she's not friends with my family, but I'm sorry, that's one of the many criteria for friendship....
Let me illustrate some of the issues:
1) Jane is out with other friends and they say something mean about May. She defends May, but....That "But" is the problem!! You can't defend a friend half-hearteredely. It would be pointless.
If May was in this situation, she would fully defend Jane, regardless of whether Jane was aware or not!
2) May is likes a boy, but it doesn't really work out and to be honest, May isn't too bothered. After a while, this idiotic boy (lol) takes a liking to Jane. Although, Jane does nothing about his approach, she still tries to rub it in May's face
"May, I think Idiot likes me...we get along and stuff, but I'm not going to do anything!! You, after all he's done to do...blah blah blah"
That is very unnecessary!!!
May in that situation and Yes, she has been in that situation would completely dismiss Idiot as soon as she sees the signs and would not even mention it to Jane.
A friend once told me that I'm not like everyone else...Just because I react one way, doesn’t mean that everyone else thinks like that....APPARENLTY!!
I was also told to tell this friend about this problems, but I know what the outcome would be- it would probably be one defence to the next and to be really honest....I can't be bothered!!
As they say "What will be will be"
